Looking Back at the Door Behind: Egalitarianism

The egalitarianism lecture we had was excellent. We delved into the inner aspects of this ideology and used modern day examples. Reading White Woman of Color by Julia Alvarez was a perfect way to get us to understand this concept. This lecture made me really think about how I view other people naturally, and how it is altered based on societal norms. Egalitarianism is the idea of fair treatment for all, and it is a hard idea to achieve. I believe Professor Brady gave us this lecture to instill this mindset in us, not that we will ever be able to have total egalitarianism, but that we will always work towards a better and more cohesive future.
